Shipping & Delivery

Marakes operates strictly on a B2B (wholesale) basis. All terms on this page apply to B2B orders only.

1) Production & Dispatch Timeline

  • As our products are handcrafted, our stock is limited and many items are made to order.

  • Depending on the product and production queue, dispatch generally takes place within 2–4 months after the order is confirmed.

  • An estimated dispatch date is shared in writing with our retailers after order confirmation.

  • Because production runs on a queue system, certain items may have a waiting list. If any delay is expected, we will inform you in advance.

Note: Upon request, we may ship completed pieces first and send the remaining pieces later as a partial shipment, depending on feasibility.

2) Shipping Methods

The shipping method is determined based on the destination country, customs procedures, international agreements, and logistics feasibility.

We can ship via:

  • Air freight

  • Sea freight

  • Rail (train) freight

  • (When necessary) Road freight / express services

Optional arrangements:

  • The buyer may organize pickup/shipping with their own forwarder or carrier.

  • If requested, Marakes can help coordinate shipping with a suitable carrier (details are finalized during order confirmation).

3) Shipping Costs, Customs & Duties

For B2B sales:

  • Transportation costs (freight, terminal/port fees, storage, etc.)

  • Customs procedures (import clearance, warehousing, declarations, broker fees, etc.)

  • Taxes and duties (VAT, import duties, local fees, etc., depending on the country)

are entirely the buyer’s responsibility.

Marakes will provide the essential export documents required for dispatch (e.g., invoice, packing list, etc.). Any country-specific documentation requirements must be communicated by the buyer in advance.

4) Packaging Standards

  • Products are carefully packed in shipping-ready cartons and protected against impact.

  • Each carton is labeled and includes carton identification and a summary of its contents (e.g., carton number, item/quantity information).

  • Where applicable, carton details are aligned with the packing list.

5) Delivery Address & Buyer Responsibilities

  • The buyer is responsible for providing accurate and complete delivery address details, contact information, and any delivery instructions.

  • Any delays, returns, extra charges, or reshipment costs caused by incorrect or incomplete information are the buyer’s responsibility.

6) Shipping Notification & Tracking

  • Once the shipment is handed over to the carrier, a tracking number or shipping reference will be shared where available.

  • Tracking availability and visibility may vary by carrier and shipment type—especially for sea and rail freight.

7) Damage, Loss & Receiving Inspection

  • The buyer should inspect outer packaging upon delivery.

  • If visible damage is found, we strongly recommend requesting a damage report/notation from the carrier at the time of delivery.

  • In the event of damage or missing items, the buyer should notify Marakes as soon as possible (preferably within 48 hours) in writing.

  • Carrier-related claims and procedures may vary depending on the agreed shipping terms and carrier policies.

Note: We strongly recommend that the buyer arranges cargo insurance for high-value shipments.

8) Partial Shipments / Consolidation

Depending on production timelines and availability:

  • Orders may be shipped in one dispatch or as partial shipments.

  • Consolidation or split shipments are planned based on destination country requirements, freight cost efficiency, and the buyer’s preferences.

9) Force Majeure

Delivery times may be affected by circumstances beyond Marakes’ control, such as customs congestion, port/terminal delays, weather conditions, strikes, regulatory changes, war/crisis, or carrier operational disruptions. In such cases, the buyer will be informed accordingly.
